 Prompt: Judith Ortiz Cofer says, “The Island travels with you.” What part of your culture, family, or identity do you feel “travels” with you everywhere you go?

Response: I feel like the respect of yourself and the way you carry yourself travels with you everywhere you go. Also, probably your racial identity because of what racism caused, being black comes with everything.

Summary:Today we worked on a commonlit about a lady who culture and identity traveled with her.

Reflection: I earned that due to stereotypes your culture and your identity will travel anywhere with your, you just have to ignore or be confident within.

 Prompt: Write about a fear you have overcome Prompt Response: One fear I say I have overcame is probably speaking up when needed. When I was little I probably didn’t speak up as much compared to now. I just became more confident within myself. Summary: Today we work on our mask reflection and wrote who it represents us. Reflection: I learned that a mask really shows who you are as a person.

Prompt response- Probably like sushi because at first I just thought it was nasty by the way it looks. Then, one day I was hungry and my sister had some sushi and I tried it and it was really good. I wasn’t that much surprised but still surprised because I heard sushi was good before by people around me. Summary- Sushi was a food that I judged based on it looks but turned out to be good. Reflection- Don’t judged sometime unless you tried it because whole time you might like it
